Indian Railway will soon introduce Mobile Ticketing Vans to deliver train tickets at doorsteps or shopping malls or busy markets near your home. The scheme is termed ‘Mushkil Aasaan’. The mobile ticketing van for remote cities and villages has been announced in the rail budget.
There will be 50 mobile vans with ticketing facility. The vans are up-linked to satellite and would be issuing train tickets in reserved and unreserved categories. The mobile ticketing vans are now being tested.
The mobile ticketing van helps to reach out to rural and remote corners of India. Poor people who are unable to go to the stations can now purchase tickets in market places and other busy places. [source: PTI]
