FORMAT USBDRIVE IN NTFS

OPEN WINDOWS XP/VISTA/2000 in Admin Account ( 98,95 not applicable) .
First plug in the usb flash drive in appropriate usb point. Now go to MY COMPUTER > x: REMOVABLE DRIVE( x is the removable drive letter ). Now right click on it & select PROPERTIES . Now select HARDWARE from the tabbed menu there . Click on POLICIES & select "OPTIMIZE FOR PERFORMANCE" ( default is "OPTIMIZE FOR QUICK REMOVAL"). Apply & OK it . 
Close this window .
Now you can format that usb flash drive in NTFS which is not showing in format menu earlier .

NOTE: Careful about safe removal of that USB device , because after selecting "OPTIMIZE FOR PERFORMANCE" quick removal can damage your data & device .
